If you are into the handmade knife scene, you may have already of heard of Tansu Knives and Merts work.
He has won many knife awards such as " best new maker" and "best kitchen knife" as well as featured in several knife magazines.

In my opinion, people often get too caught up in steel type and not enough emphasis is put on heat treatment and edge geometry.
Mert seems to excel at all of these things.

The handles are ringed gidgee timber. Ringed gidgee dark brown hardwood. It is also a very heavy timber, and classified as the 3rd hardest wood.

What is m390 steel?
M390 is one of the new super steels on the block, manufactured by Bohler-Uddeholm.
It uses third generation powder metal technology and developed for knife blades requiring excellent corrosion resistance and very high hardness for excellent wear resistance.

*These knives are not toys. They are extremely sharp. Please use care when using these knives to avoid injury.
*The steel in this knife is highly corrsion resistant. But still stain-LESS, not stain proof!
So be sure to follow knife care instructions to help avoid surface rust.
